Cafe Felix

I received a gift Groupon today for a $25 card at Cafe Felix.  Yeah! I had never been there before and this was the perfect gift and opportunity to give it a try. We really only stopped in for coffee but my daughter was hungry so we grabbed a bite too. The menu was tiny but had a nice variety of different sandwiches and crepes to try.  Being not as adventurous as myself my Daughter ordered the BLTA or Bacon Lettuce Tomato and Avocado sandwich with the soup of the day. They were out of soup so we took the chips and salsa on the side.
I also got the Coffee of the Day, Mexican Mocha which was perfect temperature for me, but that means on the verge of being cold for everyone else. However, it was smooth and creamy with a nice hint of cinnamon. Very good. And in a nice large mug too. :)  My daughter got the coconut mocha which was amazing and full of coconut flavor and hotter then mine.

The atmosphere at Cafe Felix is great. Lots of room, high ceilings, local art work on the walls... very pleasant and I could see myself meeting a few friends here from time to time. I saw on the wall board they have live music and open mic night weekly too.
Cafe Felix is located in the Metro Music and Books store which is loaded with a lot of eclectic items. A store that one must browse through at a leisurely pace for sure.

The sandwich arrived in a timely manner and on what tasted and appeared to be freshly baked bread but that is where the goodness ended.  This was a BLTA, but there was only 2 small slices of tomato and I never saw any avocado on my 1/2. The bread might have been toasted, I think it was toasted, but it was only warmed up enough to melt the butter and become soggy. There was nothing "toasted" about it.
It's amazing that people even think this sorta of food is acceptable to serve! $9.95 for this?? What a Joke!  After being served this half ass meal, why would I even waste my money to try anything else on the menu?  I doubt I will be actually eating at Cafe Felix anytime soon.

Guidos

It's a quite place, easily over looked, but the Stromboli I had was good and HUGE! I'd go back for the pizza anyway.

Great Harvest Bread Company

Yum! Seriously, this bread is great. I love the free samples. This bread also makes fine and dandy sandwiches. We bought from here often when I was working with the U.S. Census. Their variety of toppings and spreads let you create amazingly delicious specialty sandwiches. Perfect. Fresh. Delightful.

Chaing Mai

Chaing Mai

It used to be really great! They made excellent curry and beef noodle soup. Recently I have heard they changed hands and now the food is not as good. I have not been back there to confirm this. Until then, Chaing Mai still gets a Thumbs Up!

Ruby's

You know, I have no idea what is up with restaurants lately. Some are just downright awful. Take Ruby’s for instance. While it’s got a nice, sophisticated location and the restaurant it self is stylish. the food is really quite terrible. I had purchased some gift certificates from the Half Price Club Promotions off the Radio so my meal was already 50% off.
I meet my Husband for lunch, like we do often, and we ordered 2 sandwiches and a bowl of soup. My youngest daughter also came along, she is 8 and typically a very adventurous eater and it’s fun to eat lunch with Daddy.  So, when you order food at Ruby’s, it’s almost cafeteria like, you place your order and pay, then sit down at your table with a number. Sooner or later, a waitress will bring your drink and your food.
First to arrive was the bowl of soup. It smelled good. Chicken and Rice. Simple. How can you mess that up, right? Well apparently the cooks at Ruby’s can. It was completely tasteless and so incredibly over cooked the rice could no longer be called rice. It has the consistency of warm jello. Gross.
Husband ordered the Ruben special request with no sauerkraut. I’m not sure if there is a new way of making a Ruben without actually grilling it to toast the bread, melt the cheese and heat the meat but apparently there is a at Ruby’s. A lightly toasted bread, luke-warm meat and barely there cheese sorta wanna-be Ruben and, if you are lucky, you might get meat on all the bread too but probably not.
My sandwich, the “Wrangel” or “Mendenhal”,  was okay but I would not eat it again. The bread was so crusty if hurts your mouth to eat it and I finally did found one small sliver of avocado towards the end of the meal.  I’m just sorry we never saw a waitress after they dropped off our food I certainly would have said something.
I’m tired of writing nicey nice reviews for mediocre food. So that’s it. I refuse to go back. Yuck. Not worth my money or my time.

Luigi's Pizza

We have been to Luigi’s twice now thanks to the Infamous Northern Lights Coupon Book!  First time we got a ham sub, a 2 philly cheese steak sandwiches.
Luigi’s is a take out place so you have to take it with you or have the food delivered. That’s okay, we just hung out in our car and enjoyed our lunch.
The sandwiches are enormous!  And delicious!  You can easily share one or save the other half for dinner.
The second time we did Luigi’s we tried the Gyro Calzone and the Stromboli. Our coupon indicated we had to order the Large size so we did. Luigi gave us a strange but brief look and went back to the kitchen to make our order. It took just 15 short minutes to make them from scratch. Nothing sitting around pre-made here!  We took our feast back to the car. It was then we realized the mistake we made!  Luigi’s look was because the LARGE size was indeed enough to feed 2+ people EACH! And now we had 2 larges and only 2 people. Luckily we have 4 hungry kids at home so this lunch made some great leftovers for school lunches the next day!
The Gyro Calzone has no red sauce and is loaded with gyro meat, mozzarella cheese, and feta, with a generous sprinkling of parmesan on top. It was most certainly a Yummy in the Tummy meal.
The Stromboli is similar to a calzone except it is log shaped instead of a 1/2 circle. This one was bulging with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and cheese and sauce. Again, a meal to salivate over.
For a tiny hole in the wall restaurant, Luigi’s is one you should not miss!!

Peppercini's!

Well, after many rave reviews, I finally had the opportunity to try out Peppercini’s! They are located in the University Mall next to Sadlers with ample parking. Their huge dinning area offers free WiFi incase you wanted to cruz the internet while you eat.

They have a darling restaurant, very bright and cheerful. The staff is very friendly as well. It’s almost cafeteria like so very casual and laid-back kinda dinning.
Their menu is rather large with sandwiches, wraps, salads, soup and hot sandwiches, also known as Grinders. I went with the Pepper Grinder, a burning hot roast beef sandwich smothered in melted provolone cheese, and roasted red peppers along with a side of Au Jus. The menu also calls for a creamy horseradish sauce but I never tasted that.  You also get your choice of Breadstick of Chips.  I choose the stick.
My sandwich arrived very quickly which is great! We all love fast service. :) The sandwich was very very hot and if I were not so hungry I would have let it cool before burning my mouth but alas, I could not wait. The flavor was really nice from the melted cheese and the peppers. I would have loved a side of horseradish because I think that spice would have really set this sandwich apart.  The bread was a bit chewy and tough on the edges but that is what the Au Jus is for.  I guess all the breads in Europe are tough and “Crusty” and only us Americans like soft breads so I am working my self out of this soft bread phase and learning to embrace the crusty breads.
My meal was decent but I was not hugely impressed, especially considering all the rave reviews I have heard, but they do offer a 10% military discount!

The Greek Corner

Date Night! Time to check out the Greek Corner which has recently moved from the small blue and white building on Fireweed to a nice bigger building off Northern Lights.
The atmosphere that evening was jovial and my husband and I were very excited about trying some greek food. I have had greek before and rather enjoy the subtle difference from Italian. Feta cheese, greek and Kalamata olives, fruity red wines........... ahhhh.
So, naturally when coming to a new restaurant, we asked our server what she recommended. We choose the smooth red greek wine along with the sampler plate.
The wine was really good, very sweet, deep and rich flavor.

Our server was a lovely women, very upbeat and “authentic”! When the flaming cheese appetizer was served to some of our surrounding tables the “OH PA!” rang out amount the fellow patrons.  Next time we are getting that!
Our food was really good. It was not the best tasting food I have ever eaten but there certainly was nothing bad on my plate. We greatly enjoyed the large variety of foods representing all regions of Greece.

We really enjoyed our evening out, the place was vibrant and festive. I most certainly will return to the Greek Corner.

The New Cauldron

Yesterday I was meeting with friends after they got back from a week long Business trip to Bethel. While sharing war stories, we dined at The New Cauldron located in the University Mall on Old Seward Highway.
This eating establishment is located on the second floor near the Sadler’s entrance.
It is very retro, with orange, olive green and brown colors. There was plenty of seating and a pretty casual atmosphere.
Their menu was extensive with lots of exotic looking descriptions. Seems most of their food boarders on the Asian with a mix of teriyakis and wasabi thrown together with traditional american foods. They did offer brown rice in most dishes which is a nice healthy touch.
I finally chose the Smoked Salmon wrap which had smoked salmon chunks, brown rice, capers, cucumber avocado and wasabi sauce. I did omit the capers though. Across the table we had burgers, salads sandwiches and chicken teriyaki.
Mine was the first to arrive. It was wrapped in foil and placed on a naked plate. It looked very dull and unappealing. A few minutes later a burger and beef dip arrived. Unfortunately the fries on my companions plate were ice cold. He did send them back and got them refried (not a good call, should have given him NEW fries).
Soon all of us had our food and the over all appearance was good. The Salads were HUGE but the blue cheese dressing was only ranch with a few blue cheese chunks in it.
The Halibut Club did not come with fries nor did my own wrap. (Honestly, the menu was so huge I never noticed that some items do not come with sides)
So, I did enjoy the wrap for the most part. The Wasabi was just spicy enough to bring tear to my eyes and my nose twitch. The smoked salmon was really good and I felt there was a generous amount in my wrap. The veggies were crisp but there was a bit too much brown rice. It was also served with a whole wheat tortilla. I give them kudos for trying to create a healthy menu.
The thing about the New Cauldron is that some of the food was really good but some of the food was not good at all. I’m thinking it is a case of trying to hard to provide a wide array of foods and not specializing and creating a few amazing things.

Yummy International Foods

Yummy International Foods
The first time I ordered from Yummy we did so at work. A group of us, about 8 all got something from the lunch menu. You get a choice of 2 dishes with a side of rice for $8.
I choose the green curry with chicken and the kalbi ribs. It arrived in under 1 hour and each to-go box was clearly labeled so we were able to pass them out to the appropriate person.
My lunch choice was phenomenal!  I  was so impressed I told everyone within 50 feet about Yummy. How tender and flavorful the ribs were. How impressive the curry was.
So, when my colleagues suggested yummy a couple of weeks later, I jumped at the chance! I had relished the dishes I chose so much I just reordered that exact same meal.
However, much to my great disappointment it was nothing like it was last time. The ribs were all bone, hardly any meat at all. The rice was gooey and the curry, oh the curry........ Let me go regress a bit here. I adore thai curry. It is probably my most favorite food of all times. I can just drink green curry sauce I love it that much...
So when I first see this curry, my heart sank. I just knew it was all wrong. The sauce was a different color, the veggies used were totally unlike the ones used last time. The taste was no where the same as it was the first time. I was deeply disappointed. I suffered through my lunch, nibbling at the bones, dreaming of olden days when there was meat, licking sauce from my fingers... {sigh}
What happened Yummy? Did your cook get sick?  I am a stickler for consistency and after only 2 trips to your establishment, you failed miserably.
Will I give Yummy another try? Well, probably, since one time was sublime even though the second time was subpar.  All I can say it that you have a lot of live up to. If you want repeat business, you need to maintain a standard.  Better luck next time.

Ernesto and Richardo's Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Grill

Ernesto and Richardo’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Grill
The name in of it’s self is a mouthful but once you have tasted Richardo and Ernesto’s grub, you will surely be back for more!!
I stopped by yesterday for lunch with hubby and we delighted with a robust interior. Those weeks of remodeling really paid off and turned around a dumpy old restaurant into a fun and hip mexican joint!  The staff was extremely friendly, even the cooks were out mingling with the customers and making sure everyone was having a pleasant time and the food was good.
Upon recommendation of the chef, I choose the daily special which was Pork Ribs with Cactus, beans and rice. To accompany that, we also choose the Taco/Cheese enchilada  combo lunch plate and a homemade tamale a la’carte. (Because I LOVE Tamales!)
It took some time for the food to arrive but when it did, OH BOY! Let me tell ya that I have never ate cactus before and was rather excited apprehensive about trying it. However, it was more delicious! The pork ribs were to tender the meat literally was falling off the bone. The cactus was cut into strips and just as tender without any odd sort of flavor, they were just great! The whole dish was seasoned to perfection and was sizzling hot! I do like hot food coming from a kitchen! That tells me the waitstaff and cooks are well coordinated and nothing it left sitting around getting cold.
I tried the tamale next. The presentation of the tamale was darling! Set on 1/2 a corn husk, shmeared with a lightly spiced red sauce, accompanied with a leaf of bright and crisp romaine lettuce, slices of tomato, fresh avocado, and queso cheese and an artistic drizzle of sour cream. There was a lovely smell coming from the tamale that reminded me of a spice and incense store at Pike’s Place Market in Seattle. It was just heavenly to eat because with every bite I was taken back to the Market.
My husbands Steak Soft Taco was, of course splendid. It was not the taste sensation from the taco trucks in Cali but for Alaska, we were satisfied.
But back to the Main Course! So, this Cheese loving American Gringa was very pleased with the generous helping of cheese atop our lunch! It was all melty and gooey. And the cheese enchilada was nearly 3/4 of an inch thick with cheese.Thank you!  The only part of the meal that was not up to par was the rice. Bland and over cooked, it just sat there looking very sad as I gleefully devoured the rest of my meal.
Their menu is extensive and covers Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner! I saw some mexican breakfast ideas that looks awesome and I know I will be back to try more
delectables very soon. A generous lunch for 2 with a drink ran about $26 before tip.
Located at the corner of Arctic and International, in the old American Diner location.

Nino's

Finally, a night out without the kids. It has been a long time coming. Upon the recommendation of a few friends and co-workers, we decided to try out Nino’s.
Nino’s is a cute little Italian place located on the corner of the New Seward Highway and 36th.  It is seats just a few handful of people so there is usually a line but table seem to clear fairly quickly (with the help of super efficient waitstaff) so the wait is not long.  Space is at a premium so if you don’t like crowded places or are claustrophobic, maybe order Nino’s to-go?  However, I rather enjoyed the closeness. It forces you to talk to your neighboring tables. Which my husband did quite naturally.
We choose the Spaghetti with Sausage based upon a table-mate’s suggestion and the hand-rolled manicotti. All meals come with a basket of “Garlic Knots” as well. We were advised the manicotti would take 20 minutes of bake time but we had all night.  Nino’s is a lively joint, plenty of conversation yet not loud. It felt very comfortable and friendly.  Soon our order arrived, I’m sure it had not been the full 20 minutes but I am not one to complain about fast service!
The manicotti was served with a generous smothering of marinara sauce and loaded with creamy delicious ricotta cheese. The menu said it was a 3 cheese blend but I cannot tell you what 3 cheeses it might have been. It was very good but the filling was a bit on the cool side inside those hand-rolled manicottis.  On a personal note, I would have preferred it to be baked in the oven with melted cheese on top as well. (which I has falsely assumed it was going to be like given the fact the waitress told me it had a 20 minute bake time) Needless to say, I enjoyed it very much.
The sausage that came with the Spaghetti was delish! The chef sliced it then grilled it before adorning it with the noodles and sauce. This dish was also served with the marinara sauce, a bright orange red sauce of delightful flavor! Was it homemade? Could have been. :) The noodles were served perfectly al dente and the whole meal was piping hot goodness. We managed to save a few of the garlic knots for dipping and they really just topped of the meal perfectly.
I was very impressed with the overall atmosphere, taste of the food and quality of service! I saw many impressive and scrumptious looking dishes come through the dinning room and I am eager to return to cozy Nino’s. I’m thinking of trying the Pizza next!

Golden Corral

I have been putting this off for a long time. The reason being is that I’m just not quite sure what to write here. First of all, by writing this I have just admitted to actually eating at this establishment. Second of all, well, quite frankly the place stinks. I have been there 3 times now and we do go since it is one of the few places I can take 7 people and we each can find something to eat that we like, a very tricky thing to do at times.
However each and every time I have gone, the place smells like cat pee and dirty diapers. While the food is generally pretty decent and there is a massive variety of it, I just about gag over the stench.
Last week, our server was covering too many tables and because of that was very neglectful to many of them. We often went without refills and clean plates. When we asked for mustard, he never brought it.
This is not the place I would take company to, nor would I go here for a date. It is strictly a feed-your-face kinda place.

Luigi's Pizza on Arctic and International Airport Rd.

How do I sum up Luigi's Pizza in one word?

HUGE!!

So, we had a coupon from the Northern Light's Coupon Book for a free Hot Sandwich with the purchase of one. Since we are of the thrifty sort, and we were in the neighborhood, this was a perfect option for today's lunch.
I ordered the Gyro, my Daughter got the Ham Sub (minus the onions) and my Hubby requested the Mushroom Philly  Cheesesteak. Luigi's was pretty busy even at nearly 2pm, but our wait was not long, maybe 15 minutes? Luigi's is only pick up or delivery so after we got our food we headed back out to the Suburban to chow down and chow down we did!!
Digging into our bag we found a HUGE foil wrapped sandwich. Assuming this was the philly since we did order the large size, it was quickly passed off to my Hubby. However, it was soon discovered that this was the Ham Sub! You would not believe the size of this sandwich. LIterally it had to be over a foot long. Made on Fresh, homemade bread, it was hot and loaded with tasty ham, and cheese, lettuce and tomato. Not to be undone I dove into my Gyro that had way more meat then I had expected, onions and extra tjaziki sauce on the side.
Well by now my Hubby was feeling a bit left out so we passed the bag to him. Last but not least was the glorious philly, oozing with generous amounts of steak, mozzarella cheese and mushrooms.  His meal also came with homemade potato salad and peppercinis peppers.
We spent the next 10 minutes sharing bites and just ohhing and ahhing over the super delicious food. honestly, Luigi really impressed me. I will most assuredly be back!
Besides I have another coupon, for a free Calzone!

Pho Vietnam ~ Korean and Vietnamese soup

This quickly became a favorite lunch spot for a quick HOT and delicious bowl of noodle soup.
We visited Pho Vietnam nearly a dozen times during the summer and fall months here in Anchorage.
We found their soups to be quite wonderful. With the famously large servings, bowls chalk full of  veggies and noodles, one cannot go wrong. They can be spiced up with a wide array of seasonings at your table too.
Each bowl of Pho soup comes with a plate of assorted toppings such as fresh bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and lime.
Most people go to a Pho restaurant for it's namesake, PHO SOUP! a clear broth soup perfect for any meal. Highly regarded for its soothing and healing properties, Pho Soup is clearly a good choice for everyone!
Pho Vietnam also serves fresh rolls, and other delectable asian yummies!
The Fresh rolls do come out with an abundance of cilantro and basil in them so if you prefer yours on the lighter side, don't hesitate to ask your server! They gladly will make them to order.
Enjoy!

Edited.... Well, we visited this establishment last week and ordered our spring rolls with less Cilantro and Basil  however, they ignored this request and did not make them to order. So, even though one of our previous servers said just ask, they don't always listen. :(

Cafe Amsterdam

Beer Lover!?!
Cafe Amsterdam is really the place anyone who loves beer must go to! Located across from the Sear's Mall, this cute and cozy family owned restaurant is a lovely place to eat lunch! We stopped by there a few weeks ago after seeing their ad in a local tourist magazine. What a surprise it was to walk into the "outside" pub in Europe! The decor of the bar is adorable and very welcoming.

I enjoyed the Chicken Avacodo Melt which is a warm and delicious concoction of gooey Havarti cheese with fresh avocados. The fresh bread is wonderful! I also got the soup of the day, which on this particular day was creamy corn and jalapeƱo chowder. oh la la! The corn was crisp, the jalapeƱos were chopped fresh and added in at when the bowl was served so the soup was not spicy hot but just right.

My husband loved the fact that the kitchen is totally visible to the patrons. Of course I was sitting with my back to all the action. :(

I found this post in my Draft box and coming back to it months later, I cannot recall what my husband had. I know that we always share bites and I know it was good. :)

I will just have to go back there and try some more glorious foods! Oh bummer, right? :)

Here is their website link

Arctic Roadrunner ~ on Arctic

An Alaskan Institution.............
Our first visit to the Arctic Roadrunner was just a spur of the moment late lunch before picking up the kids from school.
I was with my Mother-In-Law and we ran through the Drive-Thru at the Arctic location.
I just ordered up a Dagwood cause it sounded neat. I was not thinking clearly as what a Dagwood was, all I could remember was the famous cartoon character that ate HUGE sandwiches! I took that as a good sign this burger would be rather large as well. My Mother-in-law got a bacon cheeseburger.
One really great thing about the Roadrunner is that they do everything FRESH! there is no such thing as a premade burger here. Because of this the wait in the drive through is slightly longer then a fast food joint but it is well worth it!
Oh, I also ordered up some onion rings!

They are a cash only joint which at times has caused me to drive by because I did not have any cash on me so be aware of this when you head out!

Finally, and none too soon, our order was ready. We opened up the box of rings so they did not get soggy and quickly drove off to find a quiet place to eat. I had a feeling these were going to be messy burgers!
I was right! You know, there is nothing better then a nice, hot and JUICY burger! Where I come from, if you don't need at least 2 napkins the burger was not a "good" burger! This was a definitely a 2 + napkin burger!
The burger patties were hand pressed, something you certainly don't see everyday and it is really one important part in a really great burger. The lettuce and tomatoes and onions were all nice, fresh and crisp. In fact, everything was just right.

Our first outing to the Arctic Roadrunner on Arctic was so good we raved about it when we got home and found the perfect opportunity to bring the rest of the family after a chilly afternoon participating in the Fur Rondy Parade!
Since there is 7 of us eating, I wont go into details on which burgers everyone ordered but let's just say we got quite a variety among us. We also tried 2 milk shakes, the oreo and a peanut butter which were nice and thick, very flavorful. Plus fries and onion rings! The fries are good, and the onion rings are okay, they are not homemade which is too bad. I think that with the quality of the burgers, they could attempt to make fresh, hand dipped onion rings and really rack up the brownie points!

Overall this was a meal fit for any parade king and queen!

Now the building itself is pretty old but it is clean and cozy. They have some great pictures on the wall from the very first Roadrunner, which if memory serves me right, was a converted 1950'2 travel trailer! The staff is a bunch of friendly kids and college students. It is really fun, bring the kids and just enjoy a nice normal burger the way your grandpappy ate them!

UPDATE!
Arctic Roadrunner now has an ATM inside! Yippee

The Peanut Farm

One word.........
Disappointment.

As an Alaskan, one cannot go a day during football season without hearing the Peanut Farm advertisements on the radio a dozen times a day so naturally I was intrigued about this local "hot spot" for food and entertainment.

Since I am not a drinker, I tend to frequent bar/restaurants during the lunch hours, perhaps this was my first mistake. I visited the Farm during the quiet daylight hours. Our waitress was brusque and obviously much too busy with a whole lot of nothing to actually attend to our needs. We never got refills nor did she check on us, and we had to flag her down to tell her that the burger was undercooked. (and I'm not just talking about a little bit of pink here, It was bloody!)

There were 3 of us eating this afternoon and so we all ordered something completely different. I had the California burger with Avocado and a side of sweet potato fries and Hubby had the bacon mushroom burger. My mother in law chose the Chicken Sandwich.

I really cannot recall much about the food, it was that blah. I would have probably gotten a tastier meal from McDonald's and saved a lot of time and money.

The building itself looks fantastic from the outside. I was really looking forward to seeing something that might have an aire of Alaskana History being as it is a beautiful Log Building right in downtown Anchorage. Nope! It was nothing of the sort. Bare walls with chunks of plaster missing. Run down old tables and rickety chairs. The glass garage doors in the back wall were really cool though, I imagine they open them up during our short summer for an indoor/outdoor dinning experience. It would be lovely if the weather was nice.

I guess the real appeal of the Peanut Farm is that they have LOTS of Big Screen TV's and no matter where you are sitting you can view at least 5 of them at one time. After all this is a SPORTS BAR and once you have had a few pints in ya, who really cares what the food tastes like or if the lady behind the bar is senile.

Chiang Mai ~ Thai

Chiang Mai, located on the corner of 36th and Old Seward Highway is a wonderful place to take in a quick but peaceful lunch. We were told about this place from a co-worker and he was right, it did have great food.
I have an affection for Green Curry and that is the first thing I try at any new Thai restaurant I happen upon, so naturally I ordered up some for myself. My husband got the BBQ Chicken with brown rice. Yes, you read that right! Brown Rice! One thing that definitely sets this Thai restaurant apart from many of the others is that they proudly offer brown rice as a substitute for white rice at no additional charge.
At this time, I also picked the Fresh / Spring rolls for an appetizer as my husband had never tried them before. Which by the way were fantastic!
Our order arrived before you could say "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" Hot and fresh, the curry was devine! Some of the best I have had. My husband also thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ Chicken as evident of his lack of talking during the meal. I think he also needed to use at least 2 napkins. It is so nice to see a man enjoying some BBQed meat.
I have not been back to Chiang Mai but I intend to return. The staff was really pleasant and eager to talk. We shared stories about other Thai Restaurants in Fairbanks while paying the bill.
I vote Chiang Mai for a quick and reasonably priced lunch any day of the week!

Chiang Mai is located at
3637 Old Seward Highway,
in front of the Natural Pantry and across from New Sagaya.

UPDATE!
Ate there again for lunch and this place was packed! Luckily my husband went there ahead of me and secured a table. I had the green curry since that is my weakness and Hubby ordered the Seafood Noddle Soup. Of course we had the fresh rolls too! Again, everything was perfectly lovely. I have nothing bad at all to say about this fabulous Thai Restaurant.
